I love the idea of 4 hours, I can hardly handle longer. Any word on when they are hiring?

I was pumped up that the Cowabunga Bay was opening and was ready to purchase a season pass....until you listed the prices for season passes. I might go once this year, but I am considering purchasing passes for my family to Raging Waters or Seven Peaks. They are going to put themselves out of business before they even open. The individual season pass price for an adult is two times what is at the previously mentioned parks and those parks aren't just two acres. They have other lagoons (specifically a wave pool) and areas you can spread out. Cowabunga is 2 acres. $100 gets me two adult season passes at those other parks and I have already been there and know what to expect. This is a new park that looks cool and like it would be fun, but why would I pay double for a season pass for something that might look cool but might be a dud? They really need to re-evaluate their pricing.

I kinda agree with the comment above about the season passes. Maybe lower the prices a little

I have to agree, too expensive. All the prices should go down to be competitive with all the alternatives in the Valley.

I totally agree with the comments on overpricing. What a bummer! We'll just stick with the bigger Raging Waters this year, and hopefully prices will become more competitive.

Thank you everyone for your comments and feedback. I again wanted to point out that these are only Preliminary Prices and may not be the Final Prices for Cowabunga Bay.

I also agree with the season pass prices. Just to get season passes for me and my daughter, who is only 2, would be almost $200 dollars. The location is great, and I would love a fun water playground to hang out at, but for that much we'll have to just stick to the backyard kiddie pool this year and hope they lower the prices next year.

Meg B,

Watch for the Final Prices to be posted here and on CowabungaBay.com later this week. I believe there will also be an "Under 48" Tall" Season Pass Available.

I also think the posted prices are way too high. I have a family of six and that is out of our price range.

Holy Cow!! We spent less than that for season passes to Lagoon! Yeah, I'd say the prices are definitely too high.

I just found this blog while looking for season pass information for this summer. We have been getting season passes at Seven Peaks for the last 15 years and thought it would be a fun change this year to try this new water park. What a great thing, to have competition and some fun variety in our area! However, with the size of the park being so much smaller and the passes being twice the price, our family of 6 will stick with Seven Peaks for this first year at least. It is not worth it to fork out an additional $300 for the unknown.

Way too expensive for a typical family of 4-5.

I think the pricing was too high, and so does my wife. I can see the goal of obtaining the return on investment as soon as possible, but the pricing will make it less popular for those of us with larger families... exactly who Cowabunga Bay is trying to attract. (per the KSL article dated 04/21/09 - Shane Huish)

I was also very disappointed to see that no outside food or drink was allowed in the park. Lagoon, Seven Peaks, and Raging Waters all allow outside food and drinks, just no alcohol or glass containers. Was there market research performed before this regulation was determined? This isn't a movie theater, and most of them at least offer several dining options. Please rethink this rule. Help those who are on a budget save money, especially if the pricing is not going to be adjusted.

First impression on the pricing is too high for 4 hours, and definitely too high for an annual pass.

This may seem like an apples to oranges comparison but a California local can get a Disneyland annual pass for $134. That's for 170 days of access to Disneyland. At best we're talking about 100 days at Cowabunga Bay for $99. Definitely not a good value. A more apples to apples comparison, an annual pass at Seven Peaks is $49.95, half the price of the proposed price. A half day pass at Seven Peaks is $11.95, $4 less than Cowabunga Bay's 4 hour price. At these prices we might make a visit to try it out, but I doubt we'll be regulars.

I would suggest a family pass something of value that will bring in the moms and their kids. If priced right it will work for me.

Natali,

I just wanted to point out that most Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders use their pass an average of around 12-18 times a year. As for 170 Days of Access to Disneyland, that also includes days Disneyland reaches Capacity, and those Annual Passholders are forced to go to Disney's California (Construction) Adventure. lol

When it comes to Seven Peaks Season Pass Pricing, as I understand it, All Season Pass Prices are 50% off right now, making their Gold Season Pass 179.90 if you purchase it after the season starts. That Gold Pass includes Season Parking ($25.00) and Season Tube Rentals ($25.00), which you won't need at Cowabunga Bay because there are no Tube Rentals and Parking is Free. All Day Admission to Cowabunga Bay is 5 cents more than Seven Peaks at $21.99, but at Cowabunga Bay you won't have to wait in Long Lines for Attractions.

I hope you try Cowabunga Bay and Enjoy everything it will have to offer. :)

Cowabunga Bay has lost my business for the a season pass and most likely for the summer. Their price for season passes are too high, especially for a two acre park. If I am to buy a season pass for my family this year, it will be at Raging Waters. Like an earlier post, I understand wanting to get a return on investment, but the prices and the lack of a family pass have forced me to look elsewhere for my summertime fun.

BG-
I have been looking for affordable day or season passes.... with various places within Salt Lake county, Cowabunga Bay's prices are way to expensive... for my family of 6 I would be looking at a weeks worth of groceries for one day of summer fun... guess all stick with my season pass were I'm currently going for a total of $150.00 for the entire family, witch also includes two guest per day.
